Growing up, I always had a strong interest in the law. In high school I was an active member on my debate team, arguing various policies and political positions. When it came time for college, I decided to remain close to my hometown and attend Tufts University in Bedford, Massachusetts. After taking a few criminal justice courses during undergrad, I quickly realized that pursuing a law degree would not only satisfy my passion for a career in law, but it would also afford me the opportunity to use my strong communication and analytical skills to help others. Upon graduating magna cum laude from Tufts University in 1973, I was quickly accepted into the prestigious Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C. I was ecstatic at the opportunity to study in the nation's capital and learn from some of the brightest minds in the legal profession. During my time at Georgetown University, I realized a deep passion and joy for being a part of the justice system. By the time it came time for me to graduate in 1976 I couldn't wait to begin my career as an attorney. I quickly passed the state bar and began working as a general practice attorney, gathering valuable experience in a wide variety of areas from criminal defense and personal injury law, to civil litigation and legal malpractice.
